When Yelp hands you lemons - make T-shirts
Yelp has been in the news lately for being sued by disgruntled small businesses alleging that Yelp tried selling expensive ad contracts in exchange for removing negative reviews. Here's one local business that took a different (and better ) approach. Pizzeria Delfina is a beloved pizza joint in San Fransisco. When they got ridiculous and un-hepful reviews on Yelp, they simply print the worst ones on employee's T-shirts. The results are pretty hilarious and by injecting a note of levity, Delfina gets the upper hand (not to mention a ton of publicity including NPR mentions). May not work for all businesses, but sometimes laughter might just be the best medicine. Will update this post after I actually try the pizza on my up-coming trip to SF - see I wouldn't even have known about this place to go visit. 1. "This magazine is whiter than my ass cheeks in January!" 2. "San Francisco Paris Hilton wannabies now have a handbook." 3. "Nice bathroom material... Though it chafes if you don't work the paper in fully." 4. "It actually burns my eyes if I dare to read it." | Recent PostsQR CodesSXSW 2010 -- Compleo Was There! When Yelp hands you lemons - make T-shirtsSelling sawdustCompleo - a VALET Program PartnerNature Inspired DesignCompleo Snags "Top Notch Richmond" HonorsCompleo Co-Founder, Sonali Shetty, Presents to Virginia International Business CouncilCompleo Co-Founder, Paul Spicer, Tapped as Social Media Editor for Grid MagazineCompleo Featured in Richmond Times DispatchCompleo Sponsors Twestival 2009Bownian motion in Social MediaThe Power of Facebook's new Ad Engine and what it means for Small BusinessC3PO - Six Million Forms of CommunicationFacebook at 200 MillionContributors
